In The Cooler, Interviews, Music, NCCR

NCCR “In The Cooler” 7-9pm Friday 27th March 2020, repats Sunday Noon till 2 and available for 7 days on “Listen Again.” (www.nccr.co.uk)

On tonight’s pre recorded show..

Not so many interviews this evening, given the mass cancellation of events, but we are able to speak with:

  • Stephen Belinfante(Cheltenham Philharmonic Orchestra) about the Orchestra’s 125th Anniversary season, and the effect of the Coronavirus outbreak.
  • Kenneth Woods(English Symphony Orchestra) reflects similarly, and we come up with a plan(!!!)

And there will be a varied musical playlist (Mavericks,Julie July,NewGrass Cutters, John Lodge,Alex Mendham & King Crimson)
(Sadly, one of King Crimson’s drummers passed away this week…Bill Rieflin — the versatile drummer and multi-instrumentalist who performed with R.E.M., Ministry, and most recently King Crimson over his 30-year career. He was 59. Sincere condolences to all affected…
So the track “The Talking Drum” now appears to be somewhat appropriate….

As a reminder..given the mass cancellations of public performances, please check with venues and artistes re rescheduling of shows etc.

Spot the guest!! The gallery isn’t definitive, but gives a feel for the more than 220 guests who shared with us during 2019.

The end of another year “In the Cooler” gives me the opportunity to say “Thank You” to all those guests who have graced our studio in Chipping Campden, or who otherwise have bravely allowed me to interview them about their music/book/charity/project/event during the last 12 months!! There’s enough material here for a book or two of my own!!

And a special “Thank You” to our programme sponsors “Cavendish Park Care Home”, who join with NCCR in putting something back into the community.

So, this week’s edition of “In the Cooler” will be a looking back at the past year’s guest list, a few reminiscences, and plenty of music!!

Please join me on Friday evening (7-9pm)(www.nccr.co.uk) or Sunday Noon till 2..and on the Listen Again link…..
