“Cooler Classics” Sunday 11pm-1am, repeated Thursday 11pm-1am and Friday 11pm-1am..and Listen Again..

On this edition of “Cooler Classics”, Jakob Ludwig Felix Mendelssohn-Bartholdy, (born February 3, 1809, Hamburg [Germany]—died November 4, 1847, Leipzig), German composer, pianist, musical conductor, and teacher, one of the most-celebrated figures of the early Romantic period  – takes centre stage.

And “Cooler Classics” is pleased to have had opportunity to speak with Ivo Stankov…. Bulgarian born violinist and educator soon to start teaching at the Birmingham Conservatoire. With his brother Lachezar they are The Stankov Ensemble.

We will hear several tracks from their CD “Mendelssohn”.. the Concerto for Piano & Orchestra, and the Concerto for Violin,Piano & Orchestra.

NCCR “Cooler Classics” 8-10pm Monday 28th October 2019(Rpt Sunday 3rd November 2019 at 11pm)

In this evening’s Cooler Classics, Peter Hunt, Chipping Norton Choral Society will be talking about the CNCS history, and its next concert – on SUNDAY 3 NOVEMBER 2019 at Cheltenham Town Hall- in collaboration with the North Cotswold Chamber choir, CNCS will perform Walton’s Belshazzar’s Feast – accompanied by the Cheltenham Chamber Orchestra.

Debbie Jagla, MD of Orchestra of the Swan(OOTS) will be speaking about the new recording project of OOTS,”Timelapse”, and how we can all be involved!!

And expect an eclectic mix of appropriate music, including excerpts from William Walton’s Belshazzar’s Feast (it doesn’t end well!!) and a mix of contemporary and classical music, providing a soundscape across the years……
