For many, his appearance on Morecambe & Wise, is the memory of memories.

But long before that he had scored several film musicals, notably winning Oscars for his arrangements and scores for Gigi(1959) ,Porgy & Bess(1960), Irma La Douce (1964) and My Fair lady (1965).

Also , he was an accomplished jazz pianist, and worked with several artistes, including Ella Fitzgerald and Doris Day..

Then came his association with the London Symphony Orchestra.

There is much more to learn about this legendary musician.
